Middle Ages
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: The History Channel
Hi. Lately i've been studying the middle ages. What a fascinating time. In some ways the people living then were more advanced than i first imagined. For example, they did certain types of surgery back then. But a 1000 years is a big span of time. I've read a litlle covering the entire span, but out of necessity had to narrow my focus and have chosen the 14th century. That was the time of Chaucer, the Black Death, Edward the II and III, Richard II, and the Peasants' Revolt to name a few things. So what i want to know is, what do you think of this era? I'd be interested in your comments. Thanks. -laura

Regency England
Mood:  quizzical
Hello, this week I would like to discuss Regency England. It is a popular era in history for readers of historical romance. Why do you think people enjoy reading Regencies with their witty language and Regency-set historicals with the added sensuality? It was an exciting and dangerous time. Plenty of things have improved in the world since then, such as hot running water and women's rights, but was there anything they did better than we do now? Is there anything we can learn from them? What do you think?

A writer's view
Mood:  caffeinated
Since the last time I checked in, the remarkable author Lynsay Sands has responded to my request for an interview. She's a nice lady with a sense of humor. Take a look at the interview for behind the scenes insights into the writing life. Until next time, ciao!
